Ice Machine Tripping Power
A machine that trips the breaker or earth leakage is an electrical safety issue. Isolate it and stop resetting the protection device.
Possible causes
- Moisture ingress into electrical components
- Failing compressor windings
- Damaged wiring or terminals
- Faulty start components
- Shared circuit overload
Safe basic checks you can make
- Isolate the machine at the plug or isolator
- Note whether it trips the breaker or earth leakage
- Check for visible water near electrical parts
Safety: Never attempt live electrical testing, refrigerant work, compressor replacement or major dismantling. Those tasks require a qualified refrigeration technician.

Common questions
Can I keep using the machine with this fault?
Where the fault involves water on the floor, electrical tripping or contaminated ice, take the machine out of service. For reduced production you can usually keep operating while a repair is booked, but output will keep declining until the cause is corrected.
How quickly can this be repaired?
Cleaning, water-side and control faults are frequently resolved on the first visit. Refrigeration and component replacements depend on parts availability, and we will confirm a realistic timeline before starting.
Will a service prevent this happening again?
In most cases yes. Scheduled descaling, condenser cleaning and filter replacement prevent the majority of the faults we attend.
